Buscemi plays Tommy Basilio a 31-year-old unemployed auto mechanic with
quick wits and a huge chip on his shoulder. He's a master of verbal
repartee and spends most nights at his favorite bar, Trees Lounge. Much
of the time he is hunched over a shot of Wild Turkey or trying to pick
up one-night stands. When his pregnant girlfriend (Elizabeth Bracco)
leaves him for his best friend and former boss (Anthony LaPaglia), he
makes an attempt to put his life back together. He finds comfort driving
his deceased uncle's ice cream truck and gets dangerously close to his
17-year old helper Debbie, played by Chloë Sevigny. |
