Harmony
Korine borrows a concept from some experimental Danish directors to
show a messed-up American family. The story is told with a jagged, grainy
collage of images taken with hand-held and hidden cameras and was reportedly
scriptless and completely improvised. It creates a portrait of a young
schizophrenic living in Queens, New York, with his overbearing father,
his pregnant sister (Sevigny), his high school athlete brother and his
incoherent grandmother. The movie premiered at the Venice, Toronto and New York Film Festivals
in 1999. the film follows the 'Dogme 95'. The film, according to the
Dogme, was shot on several digital cameras, some worn by the actors.
Chloë stars opposite Ewan Bremner, whose character is entering
schizophrenia. |
