Just two days ago, I was privileged enough to have caught "If These Walls Could Talk 2" on HBO. Anne Heche's absolute titan of a film simply left me speechless. I think, perhaps, it was one of the finest pieces of film I've seen in years.
A poignant, complex, and expertly-crafted film, "Walls" featured a young actress that, confessedly, I had neither heard of nor seen. The cast of the film was simply of the finest caliber... but one particular actress brought a level of art to the screen that was of a different recherché than the others. "Amy" was portrayed to perfection, capturing every subtle nuance and thought process in gracefully and professionally crafted acting talent. The character could EASILY have been executed with mediocrity, but Ms. Sevigny captured the pluralistic duality, the multi-layered persona that made Amy blaze to life, capturing the point of the tableau so completely, so beautifully, that it brought tears to my usually infallable eyes. After the conclusion of the remainder of this remarkable film, I immediately hit the books to find out who this magnificent talent was. I am now overjoyed to have found Ms. Sevigny to be perhaps one of the brightest actresses on the screen today, exemplifying the cutting-edge savvy that truly talented artists exude.
It is my most sincere hope that Ms. Sevigny will see this someday, and know that her talent is appreciated immensely. Having been in the performing arts and in the entertainment industry for some time now, I have been privy to the creative efforts of many a talented actress, but there is something truly special about the craftsmanship that Chloe Sevigny renders in her characters.
With admiration,
Keith David Reeves
