Unique
in the history of cinema about the most universal of all subjects: Time.
Each of the 15 directors has been given exactly ten minutes on the screen
for their vision. With complete creative freedom, the directors bring
their own unique interpretation of ‘time ’ to the screen. Using the technology
of film in innovative, provocative ways, Ten Minutes Older takes in all
human experience: birth, death, love, the drama of the moment, history
and ancient myth; and a great variety of locations all over the world.
Combined together in two compilation films, their individual work gains
new meaning and presents an intriguing and exciting experience for all
film goers. |

This
HBO special featured Vanessa Redgrave, Marian Seldes, Chloe Sevigny, Sharon
Stone, and Ellen DeGeneres. It is a trio of stories about lesbian couples
in three different decades. This is a semi-followup of the first "If These
Walls Could Talk," with three segments set in the same house, but with
different occupants, spanning nearly 40 years. While the first film dealt
with women and the topic of abortion, this drama deals with women and
lesbianism. Segment "1972" stars Michelle Williams as Linda, a feminist,
out, college student who is ousted, along with her lesbian cohorts, from
the on-campus womens' group: the cause of feminism comes first, apparently.
In an attempt to forget their troubles, the friends go to the only lesbian
bar in town, where Linda meets Amy, who is too butch to pass muster with
Linda's friends. Intrigued, despite her friends' disapproval, Linda comes
to understand and fall in love with Amy while learning about her own prejudices.
