01 (an Avant-Garde Greek Magazine)
(October 1995)

I don't currently have a translation but it seems to be about the release of the movie Kids. Chloë sporting a "Disco Sucks" T-shirt.

25 Hours

Academy Awards Guide
(2000)

This is an official ACNielsen Academy awards Guide 2000 with only 30,000 in circulation. Of course this was the year that Chloë missed out on the Best Supporting Actress Oscar that went to Angelina Jolie for the movie Girl Interrupted. It has some interesting stats and predictions (and it is interesting to notice now that Toni Collette, one of Chloë's favourite actresses was also up for that award).

Advocate
(March 28th, 2000)

This is probably the most recognized cover to many Chloë fans. It is the national gay & lesbian newsmagazine that was issued around the movie Boy's Don't Cry. The issue is sort of made up of at three articles, one about director Kimberly Peirce, one about Hilary Swank, and one about Chloë and here thoughts on Teena, and being nominated for an Oscar.

American Photo
(September/October 2001)

The Leibovitz Vanity Fair portrait is featured in this article. The most interesting thing you will learn in this article is that she actually shot the picture in three different locations at three different times because the actresses' schedules wouldn't permit them to gather in the same studio at the same time.

Angeleno
(May/June 2002)

Angeleno
(February 2004)

"Scene in L.A." section covers The 18th Annual American Cinematheque Award honoring Nicole Kidman. Chloë was there to present an award wearing long black strapless evening dress with a diamond choker necklace.

Angeleno
(April 2004)

"Scene in L.A." section features pictures from the W Magazine/Cartier/and M.A.C. cosmetics Golden Globes celebration. Chloë wearing an electric blue low cut evening gown...likely one of the sexiest recent looks for Chloë.

Bazaar
(Novermber 1999)

Bazaar
(June 2000)

Harper's Bazaar, The Family Issue, briefly reflects on Chloë and her relationship to her brother Paul. I think every normal family with two siblings can relate to this. However, throw in another sibling, and I think things between Paul and Chloë would have been very different. It also seems evident that the passing of their father has drawn them much closer.

Bazaar
(April 2001)

Bazaar
(May 2001)

One of our personal favourites, and with the umlaut in the right place. You gotta give Harper's Bazaar credit when it comes to Chloë. They are one of the first magazines to really notice and address her style. Here you will learn of some of Chloë's fashion secrets (yet ever-changing fashion secrets). Also, you will find one of the sweetest and most innocent pics of Chloë to date, certainly still in our top ten at the time of this post.

Bazaar
(October 2001)

Includes a picture of Chloe wearing an Alexander McQueen pantsuit and also the popular Oscar picture were she is wearing Asprey & Garrard jewelry . The only mention of Chloe in the article is in regards to how chic hipsters have been showing interest in fine jewelry.

Bazaar
(June 2002)

Not much text, just a nice picture of Chloe wearing vintage Holly Harp at Oscar after-party. Also includes a nice picture of Chloes ever-cute close friend Tara Subkoff.

Bazaar
(August 2002)

There is an on going bet I have with friends. I'll say, "I'm going to pick a magazine out of this news stand and I bet you somewhere in it there will be a picture of Chloë Sevigny". My friends will then jokingly say "Chloë who..?" as I reach for the current issue of Bazaar and, sure enough, seven out of ten times she's in there someplace.

Bazaar
(September 2002)

Includes a small picture of Chloe in Chanel at the White House Correspondents Association dinner (wearing that bow that some fashion critics had a field day with). Also includes that awesome picture of her in denim with black lace top. Nice article on how denim is becoming the trend but no actual mention of Chloe.

Bazaar
(November 2002)

Bazaar
(January 2003)

Just a nice two page spread of the best looks of 2002. Chloe is a hit with a vintage Burberry trench coat at the Miu Miu party in Los Angeles.

Bazaar
(February 2003)

Bazaar (Espanol)
(February 2003)

Almost the exact same page spread as the January 2003 Bazaar but this one is in Spanish. I believe the text reads the same but I'll need to get it translated.

Bazaar
(August 2003)

Chloë adorns a page with two of her favourite actresses while wearing Lanvin at the Cannes Film Festival (In case your wondering, think Map of the world and Dogville)

Bazaar
(September 2003)

To summarize this article, it is the exploration of the power of unconventional looks. Chloë "possesses a sense of beauty without being beautiful and the difference is the experience you see in a face". An awesome article and ChloëSevigny.com's second favourite pic to date. It simply reinforced why this site took off in the first place.

Bazaar (Espanol)
(September 2003)

Bazaar
(October 2003)

Once again, Harper's Bazaar is quick to include Chloë with the elite. A look back at the select perennially chic pieces and the women who wore them so well.

Bazaar
(December 2003)

Bazaar
(January 2004)

Never should you see the words "Style-setters" in an article without a mention or picture of Chloë. Here's Chloë on the red carpet wearing Elbaz's YSL Rive Gauche gown with "such nonchalance" and making it "so chic, so right". This picture is never going to go away, and justifiably so.

Bazaar
(February 2004)

Article entitled "House-Proud" about Alber Ebaz and his Lanvin collection. There is a mention of Chloë as a fan of his work and the picture of her wearing YSL Rive Gauche from 2000. Chloë was introduced to Elbaz's River Gauche in 1999 and was instantly hooked .."The timeless quality of his designs was what first attracted me to his work. They are never too fussy-just simple and elegant but with an interesting cut or fabric." The article is mostly about Alber and a bit about his apartment.

Bazaar (Espanol)
(January 2004)

Nice Spanish article that includes an awesome pic of Tara Subcoff and of Chloe wearing Celine. There is also an nice little segment breaking down one of Chloes outfits by Diane von Furstenberg (I have translated some of the text for you)

Bazaar (Espanol)
(February 2004)

Sorry...this article is rather long and I can't find someone to translate it in it's entirety...However...it does include the pic of Chloe at the 2000 Oscars wearing YSL Rive Gauche. The text next to it says "Chloe sevigny leaves her seal in this dress of Elbaz for YSL Rive Gauche"

Bazaar
(April 2004)

Entitled..."Do You Dress Your Age"...this article breaks fashion down to those in their 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, and 60's. No real mention of Chloë apart from a picture of her wearing that awesome blue Versace dress at W Magazines Celebration of their first Golden Globes event presented with Cartier and M.A.C. Cosmentics. "Those in their 20's should have fun, fun, fun, as their mantra."

Bazaar (Espanol)
(May 2004)

Bazaar
(June 2004)

Great article and really awesome pictures of Tara Subkoff entitled "NYC Chic: Tara Subkoff". "I think that New Yorkers are more open and less uptight or bourgeois...But there are a lot of complications to dressing in New York..." Subkoff believes it is New Yorkers' "acceptance of new designers and new styles" that sets them apart." and...Wow...great pic of Tara in a mini. The second last page gives us a little insight into Tara's life such as being born to a Connecticut antiques dealer. "I like to combine different eras, mke it more of a hodgepodge," says Subkoff, who cites a love of vintage clothing (mmmm?? ...who else do we know that loves to combine vintage clothing..? ...yep...Tara's best friend Chloë...who appears on the last page wearing that silver Lanvin dress.

Culture Magazine
(October 2003)

This is a rather recent article yet the cover and the picture inside is certainly not new to Chloë fans (I'm thinking that it's been re-printed in at least four other articles over the years). The article, however, does touch on her sexuality a little bit, something fifty billion people seem to keep asking and emailing about. Plus, there is an interesting ChloëSevigny.com mention at the bottom…"Borderline-obsessive fan site" (Huh.??…we crossed that border long ago)

Current Biography
(August 2000)

Even though we should have seen Chloë adorn the cover of A&E's Biography Magazine long ago (instead of the vast mediocres and newcomers that have adorned it lately), this issue of Current Biography is a worthy effort and spans from "It Girl" to the release of American Psycho. Fortunately, this article might also put a stop to those endless emails on how to pronounce her name…KLOH-ee…seven-EE…everyone…

Day & Night
(September 19, 2003)

As usual, Europeans seem to know things before the rest of the world…"Chloë Sevigny…the hippest chick on the planet"…This article touches on her anticipated role in Three Needles. Also, you will find some of the first comments printed about her controversial scene in Brown Bunny (that I'm sure everyone, including Chloë, is getting kind of tired of talking about). A more interesting thing that sticks out in this article is that Chloë would be more inclined to be a film star rather than a movie star…(Thank goodness)…

Dazed & Confused
(May 1996)

Dazed & Confused
(August 2002)

Nice informative article on the Cannes Film Festival. There is a comparison made between Gaspar Noe and Harmony Korine regarding how they both blend cinema with art. Includes a nice picture of Chloe taken by someone rather tall. There is no actual mention of Chloe but it's obvious that she is at Cannes promoting Demonlover.

Dazed & Confused
(November 2007)

Demonlover - Festival Flyer
(2003)
This is the Cannes Film Festival flyer for Demonlover. You will find lots of info about the movie and a nice quote by Olivier Assayas: "demonlover is one of those abstract works you find on the Internet-a combination of words you might throw into a search engine. You read it without reading it. You use it without thinking about it. You don't notice anything special about it. It's exactly what the devil is about: making you forget about its presence." There is a nice picture of Chloë on the last page.

Detour Magazine
(October 1999)

One of those usual one on one interviews where the interviewer meets Chloë at a restaurant or café and starts out with what she is wearing, where she is sitting, and what's she eating or drinking. There is also the mention of "It Girl" which immediately tells us that there will be nothing new in this article. There is a revealing discussion regarding the sexual relationship between Lana and Brandon that many moviegoers needlessly focused on. One interesting thing, Chloë says "…I originally went in for the part of Brandon.."

Sorry...no idea what this article is about or even if I have the title right because it is in French (translation help...anyone..?) What I do know is that the publisher of this magazine is using one of my scanned autographed pictures that I won on E-bay.

Elle (Spain)
(April 2002)

Aticle title is "Chic as Chic" but the rest of the article needs to be translated. The magazine does have a single page with three Chloe pics, but nothing fans havn't seen before.

Elle (British)

Elle
(December 2002)

Not much Chloë going on in this article. Just a little bit about her buddy Tara and Imitation of Christ. Includes one of those naked-models-vacuuming-New-York-window-display pictures from Spring 2003 (and Tara is right on the money about Christmas)

Elle (UK edition)
(June 2003)

By far the best and most informative article about Party Monster with some great original pics and insight. (I really think James Woods should have played Peter Gatien). "It was the most fun period of my life" says Chloë (includes a very young pic). This is likely the most detailed article regarding Chloë's wild early 90's club days and how the scene stands today.

It's too late for this since the awards took place February 17th, 2004...Chloë was up for "Levis Hot Look" that honours the rock star, model or actress who's done fashion their own way...however...the award went to Sadie Frost (figures...she's British)...Anyhow...here we have the submission form for submitting your nomination to the Elle Style Awards 2004...Submission form includes a picture of Chloë from when she attended Shattered Glass premiere with her mum Janice....also is a picture of our second favourite...Maggie Gyllenhaal...

Elle
(February 2004)

No pictures of Chloë in this one...however...there is a nice page on Dogville entitled "Town Without Pity"...This is a positive review with the critic watching "the movie like a kid immersed in a fairy tale-transported to a fictional otherworld and, gazing into its mirror, utterly enthralled."

Elle (British)
(April 2004)

One of the best Chloë spreads your going to find and covers the set of Mac Viva Glam V lipstick campaign...Including some awesome candid shots of Chloë being prepped for her shot while wearing a really short thrift-shop denim mini...Question and answer section includes questions about 3 Needles...thoughts of fashion versus acting...love of having a family...thoughts on Woody Allen...and what she misses the most the most in life...

Elle
(May 2004)

Includes the Viva Glam ad of Chloë wearing real short cut-off jeans. Also has a single page article on handbags...with that awesome picture of Chloë wearing that silk blue Versace dress at the W Magazine M.A.C. Cosmetics event.

We extracted eight great high resolution pictures from this article. The article is entitled "CULT Classic"...Could the indie_film poster girl be dipping a toe into the mainstream? ...with Zodiac, Chloë Sevigny is about to appear in her first big-studio film. But behind the penny loafers still lurks a coollyinconic girl. By Maggie Bullock. Photographed by James White. Benjamin Cho gives his opinion of Chloë, a good friend. "She makes such bold choices in he acting, but she's really quite proper," Big Love costar Jeanne Tripplehorn says. "Almost puritanical."

Very nice question and answer session with Fenton Bailey (Party Monster documentary director) and James St. James (Disco Bloodbath author). Includes a three star review of Party Monster the movie.

Entertainment Weekly
(November 10th, 2002)

This is the most likely the best article thus far so we had to scan and post almost every page (Ok...we're being a bit biased for obvious reasons…so just check out page 39 and move on). It's too bad we've been too lazy to get up off our arses and finish that flippin "Cool Stuff" section. In fact, it's been under development for so bloody long that the finished pages can now only be a disappointment.

Entertainment Weekly

Very small little piece on the then upcoming movie Party Monster. Includes a nice little picture of Seth and Caulkin all dolled up.

Entertainment Weekly
(November 7th, 2003)

Includes an entire and informative page on Shattered Glass with that classic "Staff meeting" picture that seemed to be the first picture released to the press (that catchy phrase "the big bad bionic boy has been here baby..!"…comes to mind). This review really rocks…why..? …"A" grade baby..!! But it doesn't stop there…a real well deserved piece on Peter Sarsgaard (and by the way, we remember his name after his "fiery turn" in Boy's Don't Cry)

Entertainment Weekly

Entertainment Weekly

Two page article about Dogville and controversial director Lars Von Trier entitled "Mel Gibson's Worst Nightmare". There is a nice discussion about his other films "Breaking the Waves" and "Dancer in the Dark" and a nice write-up on his life and how he got started in film. There is not a single picture or mention of Chloë in this article or even in a two page review of Dogville...but the fact that EW magazine gives the movie a "A-" rating is worth the read

The Face
(February 1997)

One of the first and most recognizable covers and magazine article covering the early years of Chloë's career (In fact, you'll likely see this and the July 2000 edition on EBay at any given time) . Includes some of the most candid talk of drug experimentation and party years in any article so far. Also, the pictures remain the most bizarre, intrusive, and somewhat disturbing out there (if a picture tells a thousand words…then check out pg 51)

The Face
(November 1999)

The Face
(July 2000)

This has certainly the best and most informative article regarding the early relationship between Chloë & Harmony Korine…and straight from the source. It gives an in depth and quite revealing look into the world of the Harmony & Chloë - The Couple. (a relationship reminiscent of Sid and Nancy might come to mind). Any true Harmony or Chloë fan will be very appreciative of the candidness and honesty found here.

The Face
(April 2002)

The Face
(October 2002)

This article about Larry Clark rocks with an awesome spread picturing "Larry's Kids". But much more than that, is how it captures what Larry is all about. At the beginning of the article, Larry is hunting skateboard kids to give free passes to his new movie Ken Park (which Harmony has writing credit). He calls anyone who doesn't understand his work, his photography, as "fashion cunts"…and we agree 100%. Speed freaks, skateboard kids, everything real is what Larry's about and doesn't ignore. There are also some interesting words about the late Justin.

The Face
(December 2003)

Just a single page of Q & A. Chloë is asked "when have you taken drugs when you shouldn't have..? ...the answer...? ...Chloë smoked pot right before shooting a scene in her movie Kids...Includes a small head shot of Chloë from the Caans Film Festival

Film Maker

Really nice article about Shattered Glass, much of which is from Billy Ray himself. Also has a piece on the marketing of Indies and production costs of films like Party Monster, 28 Days Later, etc.

Film Maker
(Winter 2004)

There is a cool picture of Harmony Korine on the set of Julien Donkey-Boy by famed film portraitist Tom LeGoff...includes a little piece about the photographer. Also included is a two page article on Lars Von Trier and Dogville entitled "Exterminating Angel"...and an extensive Q & A session with the director. There are some great pictures from the movie including a headshot of Chloë sporting that wild perm (but the umlaut over the wrong letter once again). There is no actual mention of Chloë, however there is an interesting comment in which Lars says "America has a big underworld of fantastic actors just below the star level...mmm??? The final pages include a review of Party Monster...the financing...the release...and the outcome.

Film Threat
(January 1997)

Ok…here's another of those covers most recognizable to hardcore Chloë fans. The production and shooting of Trees Lounge from Mr. Pink himself, Steve Buscemi. Probably the most detailed you will find regarding this movie, with some classic pics too.

Fitness Magazine
(May 2003)

This article came to me through a friend and cost me $2 (which is my reward to family and friends who come across articles I'm not already aware of). After all, you won't catch me going through a fitness magazine. Apparently, Gregg Miele is Chloë's trainer and discusses how she "looks fabulous in those trendsetting outfits…".

Flippin Out
by the Gigolo Aunts

(1994)

A scan of the Flippin Out CD insert, by the group Gigolo Aunts. Some nice pics of a very young "supergirl" Chloë with short tatty hair. Umlaut incorrect but no worries, people where only starting to get it right.

Chloë appears in the Fashion Celebrity Style section entitled "Floating Assests. For a smart investment, girls about town know that long evening dresses are right on the money. She is wearing vintage Yves Saint Laurent at the 64th Golden Globe Awards, January 15th, 2007 .

Sunday Herald Magazine (British)
(April 25th, 2003)

No new pics in this one. However, it's nice to see a reprint of that Vanity Fair "Hollywood Legend" cover that those f**king critics thought Chloë should not have been on. Article also includes some choice words from Janine and some great detailed stuff about Chloë growing up in Aryan Darien (a term we see here first…I believe..?) Oh…and get this…the article actually ends with the dreaded "It Girl" label rather than beginning with it..!! Also included is a little more about the late Mr. Pierce. Chloë discusses her Journey from suburbanite to club kid to fashion plate. She's talks about Big Love and hipes people get more out of her character than, "She's such a bitch." There are also some very nice pictures that I have not seen anywhere else before.

HQ Magazine (British)
(Juine 1997)

A six page spread of Chloe with "Cooool!" as the title that reads nice...almost like a short story. This is an older article from around the time she was promoting Trees Lounge in London with Steve Buscemi. In this article she is quoted as saying "I hope to do extraordinary things"...nice...

Icons
(July 2002)

Very short summary of Chloe emphasizing the fact that she embodies the characters she portrays. She is also quoted as saying "I gravitate towards strong emotional films, to movies that are hard to watch." There is nothing really new in this article but the pictures are awesome (Unfortunately, she did get some negative press regarding that perm but i'm thinking she had to do it for Dogville).

Here's another clasic cover with Chloe wearing a customised distressed T-shirt by Calivin Klein (Wow!). But much more than the cover is the article. Chloe is twenty-four and dating Harmony Korine (includes some very touching pictures of them together) and many details about their relationship are revealed here. The article also asks the question "Why are their films full of lesbians, schizophrenics, and serial killers..?"...yet dosn't seem to answer it. In this article we also get details about a planed yacht trip with Paul (You may recall her talking about the trip on the Leno show in 2000). By the way...the picture of her wading in the red dress is in our top ten list.

i-D
(July 2003)

Nice interview and awesome photos by Terry Richardson. There's a bit of talk about fashion and how Chloe goes about her life in New York. She also discusses her five upcoming movies Demonlover, Dogville, Brown Bunny, Party Monster, and Three Needles. However, much like every article of substantial size, there is that usual discussion on how she got into movies, Harmony Korine, Kids, etc. (that's gotta be getting old for her). Plus...to all those fans who keep asking the question what music she likes, what celebrities she likes, etc., etc., then you'll find some answers here. It's also interesting when she mentions that Brown Bunny is the movie that she's most excited about because of the shock factor (not sure if she still feels that way after all the negative press)

IFC Rant
(Jul-Aug 2003)

Awesome article "Talking Dirty With Chloë Sevigny". She talks about how she feels about doing nude scenes. The article touches on all her films but notably The Brown Bunny, which she defends wholeheartedly along with the director. This two page article touches on sex quite a bit…what she like in a guy…and some celebrities she likes and thinks as sexy. Not only does Chloë adorn the cover, but the pictures inside are awesome…especially the one on page four.

IFC Rant
(Nov-Dec 2003)

No pictures of Chloë here, but a small piece about Dogville with a picture of Kidman from the movie. IFC puts Dogville as one of the top ten films to look out for.

IFC Rant
(Jan-Feb 2004)

Shattered Glass is listed here as IFC favourite films of 2003. In a segment entitled "A to Z of 2003" The Brown Bunny is listed under "X" for Xrated…includes that Gallo-Chloë kiss picture but no others. In the segment entitled "Rant List: Rant Awards"…The Brown Bunny gets "The Casting Couch Award"

Independent Magazine
(August 30, 2003)

Great picture of Chloë on the cover and inside you'll find a long article entitled "The girl with a thorn in her side". And Wow…what a sexy picture of Chloë spread out on a pink couch. Includes a few small pictures of Chloë with Harmony, with Gallo, and two movie pictures. The article itself is about how Chloë (missing the umlaut throughout) is wanting to be more commercially viable. The article was written right before the release of Party Monster and talks a little bit about the film. But most importantly, we get a nice insight to her life, relationships, and goals. There is a sad bit about her relationship with Harmony and how things got tough with drugs. This is one of the most interesting articles about Chloës relationship with Harmony and an interesting thing about a spat between Gallo and Harmony.

This is an eleven-page article on the 2000 Golden Globes and includes the popular picture of Chloë wearing Saint Laurent Rive Gauche. There is also that great picture (one of our favourites) of Chloë having a drink with Rupert Everett…it's a great profile shot showing her jaw. Oddly enough, considering the length of this article, there is no actual mention of Chloë in the text There's a picture of Natasha and her ex-boyfriend Edward Furlong sharing a good laugh. In addition to the article is a full-page ad for "if these walls could talk 2".

Here you will find a picture of a very young looking Chloë playing with a hula-hoop (adorning a classic smile) at the 2000 Kids for Kids benefit. There is one other small picture of Chloë in the "beauty flash" segment about crimson-coloured lips.

Chloë once again appears on the "Style Watch" wearing that awesome Lanvin at the Demonlover premiere in N.Y.C…real nice pose too…

Once again (should be every week I think) Chloë appears on the "Style Watch" page entitled "Making a Comeback…PEARL STUDS" …"has Hollywood banished bling in favour of a more polished gem?"..the picture is of her at the The Children's Miracle Network 2004

Chloë appears int the Cheap Chic section. I believe she is at the 2006 CFDA Awards, in Los Angeles, California. However, here it says she is in New York. In the only picture, she is flanked by Jacke McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. .

I don't have a scan of the cover but I had to post this picture of Chloë. It's a great look for her, one of my favourites. The article is entitled "Straight & Shiny" and discusses three hair products. However, it's not clear if Chloë uses these actual products

Chloë appears in the section "Women in Hollywood"…"The Bold and the Beautiful"…covers the 2003 Women in Hollywood luncheon where Chloë was a presenter to honor The Hours staring Kidman (one of Chloë's favourite celebs)…The single picture of Chloë is the one wear she's wearing real short shorts and her hair slicked back.

Article entitled "Kicking Cannes" covers the 2003 festival where Dogville is premiering. Discussed is how this years movie selection "was roundly condemned as the worst in Cannes history"….but the festival's artistic director adamantly defends his choices…Of course The Brown Bunny was one of the films and here you will find Roger Eberts initial comments. Also, here you will find Lars von Trier defending Dogville regarding comments that his film is anti-American. The only picture here is of Chloë standing with Gallo…(umlaut over the wrong letter again)…

Not such a good review about Party Monster with only two stars…but then again they are giving Pieces of April two and a half…and that was also a good movie by my standards…The picture is of the Party Monster gang on Jerry Springer…Also reviewed is Demonlover getting a whopping four stars…There are two pics of Chloë on the Hollywood Style page…

Great picture of Sarsgaard and Zach Braff…who worked together on that awesome movie Garden State (there's a nice little write-up on it)…The article covers the 2004 Sundance Film Festival and talks about the new movies such as The Clearing, We Don't Live Here Anymore, The Motorcycle Diaries, etc….Includes a picture from Garden State but absolutely nothing about Chloë.

Chloë appears on page 78 in an article entitled "Chloës' Choice" I don't have a translation for the text but there are two awesome pictures you likely have not come accross before. I believe the photo shoot happend at The Alex Hotel which is mentioned in the article, and some of the pictures of the hotel rooms look familiar in the shoot.
